In celebration of the Solar Eclipse over Western New York, Parrish's cosmic series Views From and Of was invited to be on view at the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Museum and Heritage Center in partnership with NASA.
The collection beckons viewers to ponder their place in the cosmos and the nature of our existence. Through a series of analog collages, Parrish explores the timeless question: Where are we in the galaxy, and what are we?
Each piece in this exhibition offers a unique perspective, merging views from Earth with hypothetical vistas from distant planets. The juxtaposition of familiar landscapes with alien horizons invites contemplation on the interconnectedness of the universe and humanity's role within it.
By depicting eclipses and celestial events from alternative viewpoints, the collage works prompt us to consider how other worlds might perceive these cosmic phenomena. Are we merely spectators in a vast cosmic theater, or do we play a more significant role in the grand tapestry of existence?
As we gaze upon these evocative compositions, we are reminded of our shared journey through space and time, and the profound mysteries that await discovery.
Views Of and From remains on view through May 31.
